Being old isn’t a terminal illness so this pathway wouldn’t be followed for old age unless you are coming to the end of life. Palliative care can last for months, days, or even years. Palliative care is about keeping people comfortable and improving quality of life.

Liverpool pathway has been used for years without loved ones knowing their family was put on it. I have seen with elderly it is very much still being used.
