I have been living in Australia for 12 years, and this is my advice. This program is expected to open again around November and close in April 2027. However, it is not as straightforward as it may seem. Even if you are accepted, there is usually a condition requiring you to return to your home country after completing your studies. The main purpose of the visa is to help citizens of Commonwealth countries gain valuable skills and then return home to contribute to their country's development. Many people think they can find a job and remain in Australia after graduation, but that is generally not possible under this program. In some cases, your return travel arrangements may already be organized for shortly after your studies end. To be eligible, you typically need to hold a bachelor's degree because the program is at the master's level. You must also already be employed, and your employer may need to provide documentation confirming your employment. You cannot bring your spouse or partner with you as a dependent under this program. However, they may be able to visit you while you are studying. Another possible option is for your partner to apply for their own study program in Australia. If successful, they may later be able to sponsor you through a different visa pathway. In short, the process can be complicated, but nothing is impossible. Good luck!
