I’m still alive … because I relented primary custody!!! But I’m also a nomad (aka homeless) bc my court ordered child support obligation is $1488/month. I am a 47yo former tradwife. At some point he’s going to get annoyed and bored that you depend on him so much and go get himself a somewhat “independent” woman who doesn’t “need” him. Or… he’ll just unalive you so you don’t get his money from divorce. These are not facts, just my opinions.

this was me. encouraged to drop out of highschool, got married 6 days after my 17th birthday, divorced after 10 years and was suddenly thrust into being the sole provider and caretaker for my three daughters. I'm now 37 and still in the traumatic poverty cycle because of my lack of work experience and higher education. the only silver lining is they will not know the same life I lived. I will not let them fall into the same trap. and though I'm glad they have me, I wish my mother had encouraged me to go to college but instead she taught me my only worth was being a wife and mother. I grieve deeply for my 17 year old self.
