@suzannewarye: I didn’t ask him to quit. When I decided to quit drinking in January 2020, I didn’t ask him if I should or if he would join me. My sobriety is mine. Meanwhile, he kept drinking. Not a lot, but consistently. A few beers with golf on Friday. Nice red wine at dinner. And then in April 2024, he decided to take a year break. Over the course of that year, he began to see alcohol for what it is. And he felt how his body was designed to feel. He hasn’t looked back. And I’m so proud of him. If you quit drinking but your partner hasn’t, keep going. You never know who’s going to follow your lead. Save this for when you need the reminder.
