@staticify_: We are losing sympathy. #olivertree #olivertreedeath #medialiteracy #trending #wakeup If you are one of the people using Oliver Tree’s tragic death to spread nasty, debunked rumors for clout we need to talk. Because the stuff floating around on this app right now is completely unhinged, and people on social media are too gullible and its time to separate TikTok fiction from actual reality. First of all lets talk about the people claiming he "deserved it" because of who he dated or hung out with. People keep bringing up Melanie Martinez or a promo stunt he did with Belle Delphine "4 Years Ago". Since when is your right to live contingent on who your ex is or a literal marketing meme? Dragging that up after a fatal accident is just desperate. Oliver tree is not the same person as before. Next, the "he was a drug addict" comments. This is literally just stupid. He struggled with addiction as a teenager completely cleaned up his life, and focused everything on his music and creative career. Weaponizing someone’s past recovery to prove they’re a bad person doesn't make you look moral it just shows you don't understand human growth. And now for the biggest lie on this app. The claim that he maliciously mocked a K-pop idol’s death. Heres what actually happened. In 2019 his graphic design team accidentally used a meme template that featured a funeral photo of SHINee's Jonghyun. It was a massive terrible mistake by his staff. Oliver didnt know. The second he found out, he deleted it and took full responsibility and posted a public apology and even apologized during an interview aswell. Warping a regretted staff error into "he mocked him" Or "He posted that" is just straight-up lying. As for the claims about him mocking God While it's completely fair to be offended by the crucifixion imagery in his "Hurt" music video, using a dramatic artistic metaphor about his own real-life pain to claim he deserved to die is completely unhinged. The bottom line? People are inventing narratives to justify their lack of empathy. You don’t have to think Oliver Tree was a perfect angel, and you don’t even have to like his music. But he was a real human being with a family who is grieving a horrific tragedy. Stop letting 10-second AI voiceovers rot your media literacy, and show some basic human decency.
