I’m on escitalopram, well I started it 2 weeks ago for my OCD. For some reason it gave me an extreme urge to leave my fiance, run away and turn to Jesus, I would not listen to reason for the past week. For reference I’m in a very happy relationship and I’m pagan so I have no idea where the Jesus thing came from 😭😭 can’t tell if it’s helped the OCD yet because I just feel the same. I’m on mirtazipine as well

Hi, I was diagnosed with OCD that causes derealization (not feeling real or my surrounding not feeling real) and I extreme intrusive thoughts daily. My heart rate would spike to 150 and I felt like I was loosing control and in fight or flight and that I couldn’t escape the situation/thought I was in. I was prescribed fluvoxamine (Luvox) and I take Ativan for anxiety. It took a long time to find a good balance and then I went into therapy, started journaling and going to church. For the past 3-4 months I’ve really started feeling like myself again. I’m hoping to stay in recovery and I hope you are able to fine something to help you ❤️

been on paxil for 3 years & its the only thing that has significantly helped my ocd i tried Wellbutrin and sertraline and they just never touched my ocd only my anxiety but paxil SAVED me

i’m on escitalopram ! i’ve found it really helpful, i still get anxious now and again but nowhere near how i did before i was on it, im much more able to navigate the intrusive thoughts and compulsions now (through escitalopram & therapy together). sending you love and hugs!

Sertraline did the opposite for me, it emotionally opened me up and made me more sensitive. It's crazy how differently it affects each person!!

Lexapro + Abilify worked wonders for my intrusive thoughts and panic disorder, but I ultimately had to stop the Abilify since it was affecting my blood sugar levels 😔 good luck on ur journey!
