I’m going to be 68 in a few weeks. Around the late 1960s (maybe 1970) I was sitting in the living room of a girl who lived three houses down from mine. She was taking piano lessons and she was practicing this that day. I had know Molly since we were three. All through the years we rode our bikes together, played baseball together, walked to town in the northern suburb of Chicago we lived in and just hung out. We were truly best friends. But that day when I heard her playing this I looked at her and wanted to kiss her. Something had changed. I didn’t that day or ever. My family moved out of state in 1973 and I never saw her again. It is definitely a moment in time I would dearly love to have back. Now every time I hear this song I think about Molly. Love, even if it is puppy love, can truly be blue.

esa melodía se estreno en México en 1968 y todos los jóvenes en esa época nos enamoramos con ella , tengo 75 años y cada que la escucho vuelvo a sentir algo de la magia de esos días.que pena que los jóvenes de ahora no tengan nada parecido.

Piccola precisazione storica: "L'amour est bleu" ("L'amore è blu") non è una composizione di Paul Mauriat. La canzone fu scritta nel 1967 da André Popp (musica) e Pierre Cour (testo) e venne presentata all'Eurovision da Vicky Leandros, che rappresentava il Lussemburgo. E QUEST'ANNO L'ABBIAMO PROPRIO RISENTITA ALL'EUROFESTIVAL.. Paul Mauriat ne realizzò successivamente una celebre versione strumentale, intitolata "Love Is Blue", che nel 1968 divenne un enorme successo internazionale, arrivando persino al primo posto nelle classifiche americane. Quindi Mauriat non ne è l'autore: è l'interprete della versione che ha reso il brano famoso in tutto il mondo.

Tal vez es el éxito más conocido de este recordado director de orquesta francés. "El amor es triste" (1.968) o como la llamaron en inglés "Love la blue" o en su idioma natal "L'amour est bleu".
