My dad has been my personal hero for as long as I could remember. I know it sounds cliche as many can relate, but anyone who truly knows him can confirm he is a man of the highest order. Al Dente is the ultimate archetype of what it means to be a father, and even more than that, an individual in the modern world. He is self sacrificing to a fault, it’s not enough to just go out of his way to help those he cares for, he does whatever it takes to ensure the safety and happiness of those who need him. His bravery is that of legend, you all know how badass Al dente is but he didn’t get that way by accident, he repeatedly chooses the harder path if it leads to a better future or outcome for his family. His humor and wit show that despite the struggles of everyday life, he knows it is about the journey and not reaching any given destination. His ability to balance the serious nature of responsibilities and enjoying each moment is something I don’t know if I’ll ever get the hang of, but at least I have the best teacher. His demeanor is one of a fully realized man, one who knows who he is and what’s important to him, a man who can appreciate the entire spectrum of experiences whether good or bad or anything in between, and draw wisdom from said experiences to gain a deeper understanding of life and how to grow. His priorities always belong to his family and our preservation. If you call him he will pick up (unless he’s on a work call lol), if you need him at 2 am he will be there, if you want to talk he will stop what he is doing to listen, he really is the super dad and I lucked out being his son. Thank you for being the best dad to me, and the entire Sauciety as well. You bring a lot of people happiness, you radiate a triumphant aura that inspires many to continue, and most importantly you remain true to yourself and your values which translates to people being able to resonate with you, even if it’s through a screen.
