I think the problem with your analysis is that you're assuming that all companies and gas manufacturers refineries et cetera would sell to america.First.They're going to sell to the highest bidder, which will buy osmosis lead to a shortage here.Because they are selling overseas at a premium

Petroleum industry are probably jumping for joy with all the extra revenue they'll be collecting. I expect they'll be extremely upset when countries worldwide switch to EV's and renewables.

“We” can’t tell the oil companies to not sell oil at a premium. The Government can step in, but do they have to listen?

our SPR is at 340 million barrels and our commercial petroleum Reserves are at 418 million. The lowest the SPR is legally allowed to get is 250 million barrels, and lowest it can get structurally is 234 million barrels.
We use about 8 million barrels from our SPR a week, not including what's being drawn monthly for the agreement we signed in March. So, 32 million barrels a month plus on average 20 million barrels a month.
For commercial, that gets replenished, but it's around 8 million barrels less than normal - so totally fine nothing to worry about right? Well the thing is, the worry comes from the hub in Cushing, OK where the concern is that it's at 20 million barrels, and if it gets lower it can't operate. That hub works like a river for all of the other hubs and if that oil can't flow, those 418 million barrels are meaningless.
