I loooooove my Aventon, I have the cheaper model without the tracking/gps, so i have like 3 hidden AirTags and two locks, because every other bike I’ve had has been stolen in LA lol and I’d be so heartbroken if my Aventon was taken

To everyone who seems confused about the comment regarding “private property”, I think it’s common sense. The Fourth Amendment protects people (not just houses or buildings) from unreasonable searches and seizures. While unhoused individuals often live in tents or other temporary shelters rather than traditional homes, that does not automatically strip them of constitutional protections. Courts have recognized that, depending on the circumstances, a tent used as someone's dwelling may carry a reasonable expectation of privacy, even if it is located on public property. That means the police generally cannot treat an unhoused person's tent as if it were open for inspection simply because it is a tent or because its occupant lacks permanent housing. And thus, that is why they would need a search warrant.
