Musician here! The problem with those lyric style videos is that the lyrics are too “on the nose” in a sense. Look at a lot of more “official” songs and you’ll see lyrics that have more metaphors, hidden meanings or even just sound like iconic lines outside of a song, but hit all that harder when sung because of the limitations of getting certain lyrics to fit *just* right.
