@that_teachermama: 7 years, a masters degree, an additional stipend, working with our most challenging students and I was conditioned to think that my passion is what should justify my pay. Then I realized my worth… and I’m forever thankful I did. 💙 #teachersoftiktok #teachersoftiktok #teachersalary #teacherpay

60k + 20-30k in annual benefits. In a 180 day school year that’s $500 a day.

yup....and the truly amazing thing....you spent 6 years working towards it in college with full knowledge of the salary and responsibilities ? I'm deeply confused why this is so hard to fathom?

What they did was make you think you needed an advanced degree, that was the trick.

For all those leaving negative comments, what happens when we no longer have enough teachers willing to teach your children?

Teachers deserve more. Period. Especially now with funding being cut. There is no reason teachers should have to spend their own money on classroom supplies.

What do you think you should be paid for Monday-Friday and 2 months off? How much do you make in fringe benefits? Medical, retirement, etc?

Teachers pay should be a direct correlation the quality of the students they produce, based on what I’ve seen lately, teachers are being overpaid.

everyone saying that we didn't check the salary don't really understand that we did and then raises never came. also teachers don't have the option to not work overtime and it's not paid.

That’s great pay for 195 contractual days, retirement and full medical/dental benefits! The average employee gets 3 paid holidays and 2 weeks vacation- 53 more days. Work those days and you’ll be just like us! Ditch the union and you’ll save another 1k.
