Instead, they can look like they’re: • Extra honest. • Constantly apologizing. • Always worried they’ve done something wrong. • Eager to tell you every “bad” thought they have. But these behaviors aren’t simply personality traits. They’re often compulsions driven by OCD, attempts to find certainty, reduce guilt, or get reassurance that they’re still a “good” person. That’s why Moral OCD is so often missed. Parents may see a kind, thoughtful, or conscientious child, while the child is silently battling intrusive thoughts and overwhelming guilt.
