As a local who's ridden this ride multiple times not realizing I had submechaniphobia for YEARS, I never understood why this ride freaked me out so much. I didn't know what it was called or that it was even a legit phobia.

One quiet evening I was preparing for opening day. I was alone in my shop which is located right next to this ride and I hear a man’s voice 😳 I stopped immediately in my tracks knowing I was alone….. only to realize later it was the animatronic fellow in the water. I laugh at myself every time I think of it.
