Batman and Superman were both already known quite well. Nobody needed more origin stories from those two. Marvel used characters the casual viewer had no clue who they were. They had to do it that way.

Sure DC has more bad movies than marvel but the best DC movies are easily better than the best Marvel movies.

I mean the choices made by executives and producers definitely killed it, but Snyders movies just weren’t very good. Snyder himself admits that he prefers deconstructing superhero narratives and flipping them upside down, and it was clear he didn’t fully get these characters.

DC is obsessed with superman and batman. there have been dozens of reboots, actors, and origin stories. there are hundreds of DC heroes, yet all they ever focus on is those two.

they made Superman terrible and moody. Batman was also angry... why did they even fight?! nobody knows. wonder woman 84 was terrible.

I feel like Marvel took the approach where they started making iron Man movies and then Captain America movies and Thor movies and treated The avengers as a nice to have. like they would see if these movies do well and if it's worth going there. then they found it was. DC just wanted to get to Justice League as fast as humanly possible, and seemingly wanted that more than they wanted the individual movies to see if these characters could stand on their own. I still wonder if they had made a couple of Batman movies with Affleck, would he have resonated better?

The marvel problem was when i would watch an mcu movie I never came away from the movie wanting to see those actors again but when I saw every dceu movie i came away from the movie wanting to see those actors again

There have been 7 Superman movies and the only memorable villains have been Luther and Zod. That’s terrible handling of him by WB. His rogues gallery should be just as memorable as Batman’s or Spider-Mans. The DC animated universe did Superman perfectly.

when Marvel made the first Ironman film they knew The Avengers was the end goal. FC made Batman and Superman movies again and again with no Justice League in mind until The Avengers came out. Then DC rushed to get there in order to compete. DC should focus on Wildstorm I.P. Like WildCATS, Gen 13, Stormwatch instead of Batman Superman and Wonder Woman.
