The strongest man in the Bible, and the wisest and richest man, were both brought down by the same thing. Wrong relationships. If a relationship is not from God, it usually has these 2 signs. When you understand these two signs, no one will be able to take away the blessing that belongs to you. The first sign: it pulls you farther and farther away from God. A relationship that truly comes from God will not make you pray less, desire God’s word less, or begin to feel like faith is a burden. Samson was the strongest man in the Bible. He could kill a lion with his bare hands. He could carry away the gates of a city. He could defeat an army by himself. But one wrong relationship caused him to lose the strength God had given him, and he suffered great pain and hardship. So do not say too quickly, “No one can influence me.” The second sign: it makes you compromise again and again. At first, you only take one step back. Then you begin to make excuses for what is wrong. And later, even when you know it is not right, you still cannot let go. Solomon was the wisest man, and also the richest man. He wrote Proverbs, but he was also led by wrong relationships, step by step, away from God. In the end, his family and his kingdom both suffered the consequence of brokenness. Brothers and sisters, the relationships God gives are meant to make people fear Him more and draw closer to Him, not leave Him again and again. Do not mistake attraction for God’s guidance. Do not mistake attachment for God’s will. If a relationship pulls you away from God and makes you compromise again and again, you really need to ask yourself: Is this truly a blessing from God?
