I want reinterpretation not reiteration. Give me more Disney movies that tell the backstory of the villains, give me Disney princesses but set in different cultures, give me a gritty more historically accurate version of the fairytales, give me something new or at the very least just give me the stage musical on film

lions also dont speak they easily could have had the lions emote for the movie even if that isnt how they would be in nature. because again neither is speech. people want stylized live action not documentary accurate depictions. these could have easily been amazing fantasy movies but they just fall flat.

I liked what they did with Cinderella because the improvements in technology allowed them to create magic that looked real. They also added to her character and had fun with all the little details that animation of the time made difficult. I like Maleficent because it took the original and gave us a new perspective. These shot for shot remakes are just boring.

2 things the little mermaid life action movie did great was her fin was so beautiful and I have high standards with that they are mostly not so great. Pirates of the Caribbean also had great mermaid fins. The second thing is the bird that they changed it so it can spend time with them underwater and get more screentime

I think people get disappointed because of what they expect to see. They complain about how the live action looks...but what if the movies were made in a live action format first, then the remakes were done in animation. I just wonder what their reactions would be.

Aladdin is what I want from a live action. Live action with cgi used to have more elaborate costuming and dance scenes with vibrant colors. A lot of the live actions have muted colors for some reason.

This is what we wanted he looks like a dog but looks like the cartoon. Just because it’s “ live action” doesn’t mean it has to be 100% real mermaids aren’t real, so make the characters look more like their animated selves
