YES. but for pants of different fabrics you really need to try them on. denim in different dye washes stretches differently. it'd be so much easier if they just gave the measurements so you'd know where to start 😩

they do this where i live, but tell me why it's never right anyway?? i loathe buying jeans. wdym pants in my actual size are falling off me in some stores while in others i go two sizes up and they still won't close. even two identical pairs in the same size fit different last time 😭

Even then they cant get it right. I bought a pair of women's Levi jeans at Costco, and I normally wouldnt buy jeans at Costco because I cant try them on but I own a bunch of Levi's and I know my waist and inseam size in that brand. They where so big they wouldnt even stay up if I buttoned them and stood still 🙃

this is because there are so many more styles and cuts in women's jeans. means jeans all generally sit on the same place on their body - so that measurement is consistent. where as with women's jeans if you buy a high rise vs a low rise vs mid rise that measurement is going to change sometimes drastically. I might be a 28 in a high rise from but something else completely in a lower one because my hips are broader there. women also have more variance in their waist vs hip measurements then men typically do. men are mostly straight, women are generally not. what fits you in a 28 size measured at the waist may not hit your hips at all. it would likely have to be a 3 measurement system. it isn't an impossible system to work but definitely complicates things
