@itstalkradiojoe: 📍 Pioneer Park, downtown Dallas — yesterday. Saw a guy fully bathing in the water feature there. Not just splashing around — he was drinking straight from it, brushing his teeth with toothpaste, and spitting it right back into the water, washing his clothes and wringing them out. I’m frustrated. This is a public space meant for everyone to enjoy, and actions like this make it unsanitary and unpleasant for families, office workers, and visitors who just want a peaceful downtown green space. At the same time… I feel compassion. Nobody wakes up hoping to bathe in a park fountain. This is likely someone struggling with homelessness, mental health challenges, or a tough stretch with nowhere else to turn. Dallas has resources, but they’re clearly not reaching everyone who needs them. We can hold both truths: this behavior isn’t okay, and the person behind it deserves dignity and real help.
