Yea it all depends on the breed… not all dogs take to nail trimming by a non professional

No offense, but I spend time with both my dogs pretty much all day when I’m not working and I still can’t trim their nails and they are Bassett hounds. Just bc you spend time with them and train them doesn’t mean that you can trim their nails. Some dogs just don’t like it and need it done by a professional.

Unfortunately, some dogs just don’t like it even if you do spend time with your dog. My parents chocolate lab is like this. She runs and shakes. She just don’t like it. But yes, a lot of the problem is usually not exposing them and spending time with them. Your dog don’t trust you they’re gonna act crazy.

My Mal is very trained but WILL NOT deal with his nails being done…..😂😂😂 it’s the noise. He needs ear plugs ♥️Such a good Boy!

depends on the dog. I've had chilled dogs as well as high strung. it all depends on the dog. they're like kids, they all are different.

My husband trained our dog to sit and she puts her paw up so her nails can be trimmed, she also sees him in the bathroom and she goes in so that he can brush her teeth every morning

We have a rescue malamute and we are going slow and patiently. He hates having his feet done. But you’re correct consistency is key. We touch his feet often and correct the grrring and snapping with certain sounds.
