POV: 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐍𝐈𝐀—𝐈𝐈 — Niki woke up before you did. He slowly opened his eyes and looked down at you, still sleeping peacefully beside him. His arm was still around your waist, but after a few seconds, he carefully loosened his hold and quietly got out of bed. He didn't wake you. He grabbed some fresh clothes and went straight to the bathroom. A few minutes later, the sound of the shower filled the quiet bedroom, while you remained asleep on his bed. After showering and getting dressed, Niki took one last look at you before leaving the room. He didn't say anything, and he didn't bother waking you because you looked like you needed the sleep. He went downstairs, grabbed his phone and a few documents, and headed straight to his office. He didn't eat breakfast. As soon as he entered his office, he sat behind his desk and started working again. Emails, reports, meetings, and documents quickly filled his morning, and within minutes, he was completely focused on work. Meanwhile, you slowly woke up. You blinked sleepily and reached toward the other side of the bed, only to find it empty. The sheets were still slightly warm, but Niki was already gone. You sat up and looked around the room. “Already working?” you quietly mumbled. You got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. After washing your face and fixing your hair, you changed into something comfortable before heading downstairs. When you entered the kitchen, you remembered that Niki hadn't eaten yet. You knew him well enough to know that if he got busy with work, food would probably be the last thing on his mind. So, without thinking too much about it, you decided to make something for both of you and bring his portion to his office. You prepared a simple breakfast, nothing fancy, just something warm and filling. While cooking, you occasionally glanced toward the hallway as if you were expecting him to suddenly appear and tell you that he wasn't hungry. But he didn't. When everything was ready, you placed his food on a plate and carried it upstairs. You reached his office and opened the door without knocking. Niki was sitting behind his desk, already surrounded by papers and his laptop. His eyes immediately lifted from the screen when he saw you standing there, and for a brief moment, his usually unreadable expression softened. “What are you doing here?” he asked. You walked toward his desk and placed the plate in front of him. “You haven't eaten.” He looked at the food, then at you. “I was going to.” You gave him a look. Niki paused. “Eventually,” he corrected. You smiled slightly. “Sure.” He glanced at the food again. “You made this?” “Mhm.” There was a short silence. Niki leaned back in his chair, looking at the breakfast in front of him. He seemed slightly caught off guard by the fact that you had actually remembered whether he'd eaten or not. “You didn't have to,” he said. “I know.” You pushed the plate a little closer to him. “Just eat before you start working again.” He looked at you for a moment before picking up his fork. “Okay.” You were about to leave when Niki quietly called your name. You turned around. “Hmm?” He looked down at his food, almost as if he didn't know how to say what he wanted to say. Then he simply looked back at you. “Thanks.” You smiled. “You're welcome.” You started walking toward the door, but before you could leave, Niki added quietly, “And... you can come in without knocking next time.” You looked back at him with a small smile. “i just did
