The beauty and significance of this scene lie in the toys' acceptance of what seems to be their inevitable fate. As they face the fire, they join hands and confront it together. It breaks my heart the way Jessie asks "Buzz what are we going to do!?" and for the first time ever Buzz Lightyear doesn't have an answer. The toy that got them out of every difficult situation before this, The toy that always had an answer and plan for everything. Buzz gives Jesse and look and reaches out for her hand accepting their fate together. As every toy gives into acceptance of their slow agonising fate Woody is the last one to give in, As Woody looks around seeing all the toys accepting their fate he looks at Buzz and Buzz reaches out offering his hand and Woody and Buzz share a look to eachother that says more than any amount of words could, Woody takes Buzz's hand accepting their fate.
