WHY CAN’T VEGAN RESTAURANTS STAY OPEN?! 😳🌱 If you've been vegan in South Florida for a while, some of these are going to hurt. 😭 Over the years I've watched some of my favorite vegan restaurants come and go—and looking through my old food pictures had me realizing just how many great spots we lost. Old Riverhouse Vegan Village and that meatball sandwich. L’Artisane and those strawberry shortcake pancakes. 🥞 PLANTA West Palm and the French toast. Glam Vegan. Ethos Vegan Kitchen. Nabati in Wynwood. Atlas Meat-Free Deli. Max'd Out Donuts. 🍩 Man… WE HAD SOME FOOD. 😂🌱 And what's crazy is that these weren't places I just saw online. I actually have memories attached to them. Different years. Different parts of South Florida. Different stages of my own vegan journey. That's one thing about restaurants that people don't always think about. They're not just businesses. They're where you had your first vegan donut. Your favorite brunch. A date. A birthday. A meal with friends. Or that one dish you kept driving back for because nobody else made it the same. And then one day…they're gone. The good news is South Florida's plant-based scene is still evolving, and new places continue to give us more options. But I definitely miss some of the OGs. And shoutout to Holi Vegan Kitchen for still holding it down. 🙌🏾🌱 Now I want the longtime South Florida vegans to answer this: WHAT CLOSED VEGAN RESTAURANT DO YOU MISS THE MOST? It doesn't even have to be on this list. Drop the restaurant AND the meal you wish you could have one more time. 👇🏾
