@osheahoganlabs: Not everyone responds to GLP1 medications in the same way Some people see incredible results while others see much less benefit Research involving 28,000 people suggests genetics may be one of the reasons why The more we learn about obesity, the clearer it becomes that biology matters What do you think of this research? As someone who's been on a GLP1 for 3 years and has lost half my body weight, I wish people would understand that its a TOOL. GLP1's don't track calories. They don't weigh out portions of food. They don't measure out 40g of lean protein per meal. They don't put your runners on. They don't pick up weights. What they do is make the emotional struggle a little easier, curb cravings and make it less difficult to stick to a calorie deficit. But you HAVE to put in the work yourself. When I first switched from ozempic to mounjaro, I was convinced that the mj would do all the work for me, and for 4 months I didn't lose a pound. Eventually I gave my head a wobble and started tracking and THEN the weight started coming off. I see so many people disheartened, saying it doesn't work for them but a lot of the time they're relying on the med doing all the work.

I’ve been on wygovy for nearly a year, I don’t lose a massive amount maybe only 0.5 to 1 kg a week if lucky, sometimes I put it on instead. I don’t have suppression of food , however I eat smaller portions. I do pass a lot of urine, and the swelling in my legs especially around my knees is going down. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and PCOS at the age of 20, I tried every thing apart from bariatric surgery to lose weight. I’ve always been active and never had a big appetite , but my weight kept climbing. I’m now 91 kg down from 110 kg but have plateaued. Guess it’s my age and menopause causing problems as I’m now 57

How interesting! Does anyone know what a ‘particular genetic change’ is? I’m not sure where I sit on the scale of reaction to MJ but have lost 60lbs in 7 months, it’s been life changing.

Mounjaro wasn’t working for me. Right up to 15mg. Was just about to give up after 6 fruitless expensive months. Then I started Ritalin after getting an ADHD diagnosis and it seems to have kicked it into gear! Have come down to 10mg and still losing 🎉

I was on Saxenda for 6 months and only lost 5 lbs. I started Zepbound on January 5, 2026, at 205 lbs. I’m now 151 lbs 54 lbs down and only 6 lbs away from my goal weight of 145. Everyone responds differently, but for me, the difference between the two medications has been night and day.
