Oooffff not a good take. Severs get paid below minimum wage for their work. That’s why the service is better here, they need to get those tips. Australia system is way better and we need to stop tipping bc employers need to pay a livable wage

If the average meal costs $200 and the waiter gets paid 20% then that works out at $40 for 5 mins work which works out at $480 per hour

Imagine how much more expensive dining out would be if the tipping system wasn’t in place. The business would have to charge more to pay the staff. And you’re 100% correct! When the tip is reflective of services received, definitely incentive to provide better service!🫶🏼
