@young.irish.budge: It’s been an exciting week. I actually got the keys last Wednesday, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to post this video. After sitting on it for a few days, here we are. I’ve been saving towards this for a very long time. Buying a home as a single applicant, without help from the Bank of Mum and Dad, during both a cost of living crisis and a housing crisis is something I’m incredibly proud of. That said, I’d be lying if I said I did it completely alone. Financial help and support aren’t the same thing. I’ve been lucky to have plenty of emotional support along the way. A huge thank you to my boyfriend for all the lifts, the encouragement, and for basically chauffeuring me around while I still can’t drive my car. And thank you to my parents for continuing to stock me up from their freezer and pantry every other week. No matter your circumstances, nobody gets through something like this entirely on their own. And if you’re currently viewing, bidding, getting outbid, wondering if it’s ever going to happen for you, please keep going. This journey took me about two and a half years longer than I expected, and there were definitely moments when I thought it might never happen. But it did. Keep going. Your turn will come.
