It's always funny to me how people refuse to understand that any of the times Goku wasn't around was for one of two reasons. A: to train to get stronger so that his sons don't have to fight and he can protect them or B: Staying away TO protect them because strong enemies were drawn to his presence (also he was dead so). Saying Goku is a bad dad is just disingenuous to everything he ever did. Was he a perfect father? Absolutely not, absolutely could've been better by human standards. But he was still a good dad to Gohan and Goten, especially considering his life before and his inherent biology

Reminds me of my dad who passed away and I didn’t have a good relationship with him and whoever’s seeing this comment, please spend more time with your parents because you never know how much time they have left until that timer ends. I just wish I could spend more time with him before his time was up and I regret everything bad I said about him.
