Sorry, lost me at adding water. Marg’s are simple - 2 parts tequila to 1 part fresh lime juice to 1 (3/4 if you want it less sweet) orange liqueur. Nothing more, nothing less. Served over ice in a 1/2 salt rimmed glass.
