Most of these players have played together since they were kids. Many of them went through the National Team Development Program and played internationally together as well. It's not really a big secret or all that shocking tbh. I don't think it is a big deal and honestly it is kind of naive to think that the players don't talk to eachother. Also everybody tampers, that's why signings are announced immediately when free agency opens.

I knew Brady Tkachuk wasn’t committed to staying in Ottawa. He house is a semi-detached, not an expensive house for a guy making millions! Sens win with this deal, freed up a lot of cap space to chase someone great

I remember months ago like right after the Olympics listening to the What Chaos guys speculating about B. Tkachuk getting traded to the Panthers and going “yes, consolidate those two together to give me more reason to hate the Panthers” so this isn’t out of left field I’m more shocked it actually happened, like, good.
