Pete007 :
Even PC users hate touchscreens. Why do people want to get fingerprints all over their screen?

I don’t mind iPad sidecar having touch screen but Macs don’t need a touchscreen, no laptop does

touch has always been there. Try using two fingers or more in macOS 26. Like scrolling on a website. They only added support for one finger gestures, which have always existed with apple pencils.

I don’t want a MacBook I can touch… I want an iPad that runs macOS…

This could be huge for the TouchDesigner community. Been wanting multitouch for Mac for years.

Laptop touchscreens are useless. The fold over ones may be more functional, like from Lenovo, but overall not a great experience. However, if they somehow made an MBP with detachable touch screen….not we’re talkin. Think the Surfacebook from a few years ago but not that ugly. 😂 Doubt they’ll ever do it because then you wouldn’t need an iPad. But it would be cool ,at some point, if they merged the laptop and iPad. Then you’re talking functional. If this happens it’ll likely take years so they can maximize profit off the iPad.

I only have two hands, so this works. The iPad is on my lap, the Mac is on my desk.

I’m not thrilled that they got rid of the TouchBar. I use to use it every time I had Numbers or Pages, but now they removed all of the shortcuts for both apps. Hopefully they’ll bring them back with a touchscreen.

Imagine the fingerprint marks on a touchscreen Mac 😂 it’s already a magnet for dirt as it is, I don’t even touch my screen and it somehow ends up with marks or something on it. I would love if Apple did a upgraded version of the Touch Bar

I agree. Macs don’t need touch screen. People that say they want it, won’t end up use it once the novelty wears off.

What if the thing is no Touch Screen MacBook, but a MacOS iPad Pro? 😬 that would be the actual best combo

Well iPad Pro were already almost like a mac, so at this point… why not?

This would go right next to the Touch Bar for stupid features if they were to build it. There is a small segment of user that would get an advantage from it. 95% of users would try it once and never use it again.
