@forever.home.resc: I look at her and I wonder what she thinks lying on that shelter floor. The moments of her life that led to today. We don’t always know the last day we have on this earth but for her we knew the end was here. In just a few hours she would walk down that kennel line for the last time. She can’t tell us her story but her body can give us a pretty good idea that it isn’t hasn’t been kind. She’s a senior that’s clearly been used for breeding over and over. She’s heartworm positive and she’s scattered with old scars. She has every reason to hate us. She has been used and thrown away… yet she doesn’t. Instead she sees someone and immediately she is hopeful. Is today the day that I find love? There has to be more for her. Her end can’t be on the shelter floor. Her story can’t be done here. We are full. Our medical fund is depleted from our emergency case last night.. but this family has never turned the other way in the dark moments. So today isn’t her last day. We said yes to her. She is getting that final walk down the kennel line… but it’s not to her end. It’s the beginning . Welcome to the family Edna.
