Yes! You should read "Birth Vibes" by Jen Hamilton. She's a nurse turned social media darling and a total badass, helping women and families. Its a #1 NYT Best Seller.
Because you dont need other people to tell you how to be. Just look in the mirror and remember you already are a badass. ❤️

honestly, you don't want to start as it's a commitment but honestly ready The Acotar then Game of thrones did wonders for my mental health after divorce, I could write essays on why they're some of the best self help books. but it's like 15 books and just reading one isn't it

Hey, therapist here. Don’t sleep on popular fiction. Romance, suspense, fantasy, whatever your jam. A really engaging read with a lead character you feel inspired by or identify with can do the mind wonders. Especially in times of turmoil or crisis, an interesting plot can be a much needed break. You mentioned wanting to feel like yourself, and I just want to caringly remind you that it’s all you. I know you mean get back to “normal” or point of homeostasis, but try to think back on times of prior adversity and reminder how you managed that situation and think how long or short it was to get back to ‘you.’ Romantasy is popular now especially when the characters are almost the opposite of the ppl clients see in life. Other classics I’d recommend would be something like The Hobbit with a lot of world building and character driven arch’s

I’m 61 and have gone through what you’re experiencing. You can read all the books and go to therapy but…It. Takes. Time. And you WILL come through ok on the other side. It’s beautiful over here. All of us who have made it here are waiting for you with open arms. 💕

“Let’s Pretend this Never Happened,” by Jenny Lawson. She is hilarious and writes on her struggles with physical and mental health that will somehow have you laughing out loud (which is her intent). It’s not self-help, necessarily, but helps me tremendously when I’m down or going through a rough time.

Jen! This is grief! It will take some time to feel better. Don’t rush it. Feel the feelings.

OK….here is my 2 cents; go see a counselor 1:1. You are navigating major life transition while enduring an emotional loss while your career is launching you into the stratosphere. No wonder your mental ship feels like it’s in rough waters. Love you, we’re all in this with you, Jen ♥️🌺♥️

Unjustly Taken :
After my divorce, I made a list of all the things in my life that I wanted to - no matter how outlandish. I put 100 things on my bucket list and started crossing them off. It’s saved me. It helped me to really live during a time where I was struggling to exist. When I crossed off the first 100 things, I wrote 100 more.

I am going to say this as gently as possible: now is not the time for self help. When major life shakeups happen, sometimes you need to sit in that grief and upset and terror and just feel. Self help is wonderful and there will be a time for it. But this is very, very raw and it’s ok to feel your feelings. 🫶🏻

To all of you in the comments telling her to go to therapy instead of reading books please just follow the damn assignment! We all heal in our own way. We are here for support. Jen this is also my preferred path to healing in addition to many other things. You got this!!! My recommendations are Untamed and the 4 Agreements 🥰 Spotify list below
