@oglindaha: I’m still trying to work on some of these myself!! 🫣😅 When I first presented this to my kids they were both genuinely interested in trying this method. It was such a great exercise to go through with my son who was feeling a bit of anxiety about adulting. #adultingnoob #goalsetting #skillbuilding #haradamethod
I would recommend removing references to being on time and time management which are very colonial constructs. Instead, shift to find your rhythm and season. Commit to others and yourself within your capacity.

I call it life school - I put down a bunch of skills and organised them into categoties and age groups that I could work on and review year by year with the kids

I’m 50, the older I get the less I want to be an adult.

I LOVE that you included volunteer. There is so much to gain from volunteering your time and so many different ways to contribute. So much wouldn’t happen in our communities if there weren’t volunteers driving the activities. Go volunteer everyone!

we should be teaching kids to become adults before 18 ffs lol the whole point of kids is to grow them into adulthood. not to force them to be kids forever

It once was.....that was the time to leave home, get roomates, share expenses, learn about adulting while parents were still nearby or available & able to help, if needed. To practice adulting while family could still be a little bit of a safety net, weekend visits, dinners, maybe laundry if you forgot to budget for it, leftovers......way back in the olden times.

I’ve been thinking a lot about active vs passive parenting so the timing of this is perfect. Thank you for sharing! I would love more content about what the process looks like with your son. Not so much the what, but the how we do this?

It would be great to start before they are 18 for some of these… like cook 5 meals… explore careers etc
