I work as an assistant full time and take courses through Penn State. The school is great if that’s the route you wanna go but the best equipment operators normally didn’t go to college. Only thing that will make you successful is practice in the field.

I feel the benefits of going to school to work at golf courses especially higher end ones, comes more from the turfgrass classes rather than the maintenance classes. You can teach anyone to operate a machine but it takes way more time and experience to learn how to “take care” of the grass
