@thealchemists_garden: Replying to @Fusis car living is definitely not cheap but less expensive than living in an apartment. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So you pay for storage to keep the things that you are not using. And because you work remotely, you have to drive around consistently and how much laundry are you doing?

so I have been thinking, I'm going to college and I wanted to know if it would be worth it living in my car compared to room and board! I come from a poor family and I can't really afford college but my parents are helping me! what is your take?

I'd park at work get a membership at planet fitness and from time to time get a motel and just travel. this lifestyle sounds so much better than just being cooped up in a house or apartment waiting to save so you can travel when you can do it all in your car then once you reach a certain age finally buy a house and settle down 🤷🏽

I used to be somebody else :
The cost of doing your laundry... lol most places I've rented, didn't include laundry... so that was an expense I had regardless. & I usually pay like $40 every 2 weeks!

Here's the OOONNLLY question I have. And this goes for van lifers and others. What happens if your car breaks down. Your involved in an accident? Then your home is in the shop, or gone altogether. Where do you stay until the next step?

Of course you still have bills and responsibilities living in your car but regardless. You are saving a great deal of loot as long as your 🚗 doesn't breakdown

I have to spend $5.00 every other day just for ice to keep my food cold. That really adds up. Propane, butane, batteries, water, shower and yes laundry

Car liver here, and you are right. Add in a gym membership, some fast food if you don't have power, etc

I agree with you, I am saving quite a bit that has allowed me to pay for some big ticket items like my new tires, a complete tune up and have paid off some big medical bills and so on. However,I am spending a lot more on gas. Also food, and I’m not eating out. But I do have to buy food for dinner every night and I have nowhere to store left overs. And like you I’m paying for storage. So there’s that oh and a gym membership so I can use their ladies room for daily showers. But I am still saving.

I get to blow a lot more money. and save more . I stay 45 minutes closer to work. spend less in gas got rid of all my things that I don't need or use only use the necessities. , no utilities. i spend about $2,000 a year staying 2 weeks out of the month at a campground full hookup

I’ve lived in my car a number of times and at least for me, I also start frivolously spending some of that extra money in ways I wouldn’t have before. Like for example, when I’m not living in my car, I never go to the movie theater, but anytime I’m living in my car I wind up going to the movie theater at some point,
