Her whole life she watched her twin sister be favored over her for having a dragon and all her cousins were dragon riders. The one dragon that was supposed to be hers was claimed. I don’t blame her for wanting to embrace her Targaryen blood and claiming one herself. Plus she got a badass dragon and it’s her first time trying to ride/bond with one. It’s gonna take her a minute😭😭

Contrarily to popular opinion I like how they portrayed this partnership going back to visaerys “the illusion that we control the dragons is wrong” it shows what desperation for a bond gives that specific bond. Like daemon and caraxes they are very similar in temperament hence why they bonded. Rhaena was impatient and desperate which shows through sheepstealers actions at the gullet they are similar, it also adds contrast to dragon riders and their dragons. I appreciate those who read the books expect a extremely similar story and for things not be be changed however I like the change not everything is predictable and it keeps us on our seats thinking what may be next.
