I respectfully disagree with the no contact idea. To do so would teach her son nothing other than to run from conflict. Even though she initially stood up (bravo!), she has to remain standing. She should attend every family function, hold her head high, and let the others deal with it.

I would have deleted the comment and then waited for SIL to say something, if she even noticed. And if she didn't, I would have not given it another calorie of my energy.

So I wonder what the grown kid in medical school first job was ??? We all had to get a first job , mine was a newspaper round and babysitter, but I then went on to have a successful real estate career. Our first jobs mean nothing 🙄

I wouldn't make some big " no contact" announcement. I would just live my life and be nice to them if I have to see them. And if they aren't talking to her, she should enjoy the peace.

I would not go no contact, I would just continue to live my best life with my son who is doing great at 15 and my husband who loves me. at that point I would act like it never happened.

I would’ve probably said can’t compare the two since one is 15 and the other one’s in his 20s but thank you for the compliment to my son’s first job

Once you go very low contact. Others will start to question and their eyes will be opened. Good for you!!!

Yeah, no contact is the way to go. A teen getting his first job is a huge deal compared to a med student. There is absolutely no reason for that behavior

I think great she confronted the sister in law. I also think she should continue on with in law family relationships.

I would have posted back, good for your son whom is in med school and in his 20’s. I am so proud of my 15 year getting his first job. Who knows when my son is in his 20’s if he will be an attorney or own his own business or what he is just 15.
