when I was young, I thought being an only child is the best. they always say "you're lucky because you having nothing to share with, you're lucky because have no annoying siblings" but as time goes by I realize that being an only child is one of the worst things in the world. I never wanted to be alone, I want someone I can count on with, share my stories with, fight over small things with. and every night it sickens me how am I supposed to take care of my parents alone when they grow old? How can I carry all the burden in life alone? and even now as I type this down it hurts me to realize that I have to fought everything, because I have no other choice but to become independent😓

As a mom with only one child. Reading these comments is heartbreaking. I hate that my child might one day feel the same way, but I truly hope she understands when she’s older. Having a child is hard physically, emotionally and financially. I’m a single mom with no help. I work my ass off to give her the life she deserves but I don’t have it in me physically or mentally to have a second child. I wouldn’t be doing it for me I’d be doing it for her, and that’s not fair. If I had a second, the things I can offer her would be limited and I can’t stand the thought of that.

Siblings are not guaranteed friends. I have 3 siblings and I'm not close with any of them. I'm not saying it's always like that, but I know a lot of people who aren't close with their siblings. Find friends who are so amazing you forget you aren't related, that's what I did!💖

idk, I grew up with a sibling that's caused me more trauma growing up than anything else...... now as adults, we still don't get along.
