@scottkuru: Over the years, investigation after investigation has pointed to the same problem. A system that was supposed to help vulnerable Aussies find work, but instead created incentives to game the numbers. That's the brutal part. People with health issues, disability, mental health struggles, caring responsibilities or long term unemployment were often treated as too hard, too expensive or too unattractive to properly support. When a system rewards outcomes over genuine help, this is what happens... and it’s everyday Australians who end up paying for it.
This happened to me when I was with Max Employment in Craigieburn in Melbourne’s north, they refused to get me a job because they would lose out on their extra payments, if I was to get a job, the longer you are unemployed with a Job provided the more money that the staff gets.
