As an Aussie, I’m more than happy for my taxes to go towards Medicare, you don’t even notice it. I could go and have a baby tomorrow have it spend weeks in the ICU or me, have surgery etc and not spend anything further out of my pocket. I can pay private if I want to but why would I

I've experienced both. I got sick in Canada and received the best treatment which cost me nothing. Years later, I became ill in the US and lost my home.
