@dgugnani: There's a version of success that gets sold to founders, especially to women, that looks like a perfectly curated highlight reel. Scaled company. Glowing marriage. Calm well dressed kids. Photos taken at every event. Never a dropped ball. For years, I quietly measured myself against that invisible checklist and always came up *very* short. Eventually I had to admit something uncomfortable: I was chasing a composite of other people's values. Other founders. Other investors. Social media. Well-meaning friends. I had built a definition of success out of approval, not out of what I actually wanted. So I got painfully honest. What does success feel like in my actual body? In my actual life? Not on my virtual resume. For me, it's building things I'm proud of as an entrepreneur and help others do the same as an investor. Being present with my kids as much as practically possible. Protecting my health which I've realized is fragile. Working with people I genuinely like. Everything else is negotiable. Once I redefined my "all," decisions got sharper. It got easier to say no to opportunities that looked glamourous but cost me too much of what actually mattered. I stopped apologizing for designing a life that doesn't fit neatly into anyone else's template. You don't need to have it all. You need to be crystal clear on what your "all" actually is.
