@andruyeung: A company with 700,000 employees just lost half its value this year, and the reason is a job title you've never heard of. #AI #Tech #economy #prediction #consulting

knowing Accenture internals, knowing the work culture, it was failing before ai. it was already failing during COVID. extremely low salaries, targeting new grads to be "forever interns", knowledge base disappearing like cotton candy in water every quarter. I'm genuinely baffled how they have managed to survive this long

I'm a consultant myself, but massive consultancy companies like the big 4 are completely unnecessary... consulting should be spread out in smaller specilized companies like one for cybersecurity, accounting, management...etc. one giant company to do it all will result in slop consulting... I've worked alongside some from these companies and their work is literal slop before AI, let alone now with AI... as they get massive, get big project they just hire in mass... quantity over quality hiring... all the big consulting companies will fail eventually

Accenture and other management consulting companies were never really offering up unique expertise. They were simply taking on the risk that the C suite did not want to assume themselves.

"too big to fail" actually means too big to let fail. basically, a company that's so large that their downfall can bring about a recession by itself. that's what "too big to fail" means, not "it's so big that it can't fail"

Accenture is only like 5% consulting, rest is outsourcing and they suck at both

Majority of Accenture is outsourcing! Then they made a lawyer their CEO, no vision, just powerpoints! Always lagging

No your paraphrasing lacks nuance. Accenture’s business model is not just consulting. They went on an acquisition spree buying ad agencies to diversify their services. The ad industry is being ruined by Ai. Look at WPP share price as a comparison.

Accenture isn’t a management consulting company.. that is a super small part of their company. Their consulting wing only started like 15 years ago (and is super tiny). They are a technology enablement company. Their main business is selling enterprise level tech solutions to big companies (ie build a custom ERP or SAP system for a company that has gotten too big for a generic one).. using Accenture as a rep for the “d*ath of management consulting” makes no sense
