Lamine Yamal, an 18-year-old young man, scored his very first World Cup goal for Spain on one of the biggest stages in the world, in front of millions. And instead of celebrating himself… he fell into sujood (prostration). To express his gratitude to Allah. Allah says: “And remember Me; I will remember you.” (Qur’an 2:152) What happened next was beautiful. The Saudi supporters, whose own team was losing, were not focused on the score. They celebrated the sujood. They shouted “Allahu Akbar” with joy because they understood something that many people do not. Football ends. Fame fades. Victories come and go. But a young Muslim remembering Allah at the peak of success is worth more than any scoreline. Because for them, Islam came before football. This is a beauty the world rarely gets to witness. Allah says: “And whoever honors the symbols of Allah, indeed, it is from the piety of the hearts.” (Qur’an 22:32) One goal changed the match.
