when I was 3yrs old, my mom started cheating on my dad. eventually met the guy she'd end up leaving him for. when I turned 5yrs old, she divorced my dad. she routinely would wake me and my sister up in the middle of the night, sometimes after midnight to go find him. he'd be with other women everytime. when I was 8yrs old they got married and he moved in. she always told me growing up that she left my dad because all he wanted to do was fish. as a kid, I believed her. my step-dad traveled for work and they were together for 25yrs. until he eventually got caught cheating and he never came back from a work trip. still haven't seen him again till this day. that was in 2005. my dad always told me when I was fishing with him that "son, one day you'll find out the truth." when I confronted her about it, she cut off communication with me and hasn't spoken to me in over a year. my pops is number 1 in my life. and she hates it. I love you pops ❤️

I didn't appreciate him until he was gone; he worked on rice farms, in the military, construction, as a mailman, and a street vendor, so he was always working and not around, except when cooking for the rest of the week. That's the way he showed love .
