I think some people genuinely just don't know and are ignorant, I was. In my house growing up when you got your hair done, my family would touch it and compliment it. My friend had to let me know- because I responded to her in a similar way when she got her hair done. To me it was a sign of validation and praise, not disrespect. But it was explained to me and it's simple as that. Doesn't have to be a big deal, some people just aren't aware. We can talk as people and explain customs and it's okay
