We didn’t. She filmed this and I’m posting this because no rescue shows you real and raw rescue for fear of the comment quarterbacks. But I think people need to see this. They need to know what happens to these animals when they say they support horse slaughter or it’s kind, regulated and humane. It’s a dumping ground for abuse and neglect. Not many people know that, but we do. So many people blame the kill buyer but it’s the previous owners who need charged. Auctions shouldn’t be a loophole to avoid charges. This is a down horse inside the slaughter holding facility. Someone starved this horse 5/6 year old horse near death and then dumped him at auction. Cody said he bought him for $25 because he felt bad for him and thought we might be able to help him, but in the shuffle of the confusion after the auction forgot to text me. And I’m sure he thought he had time to… but unfortunately he didn’t. He did put the horse by himself to keep him from getting hurt but the exhaustion of the sale, contagious pathogens, trailer ride and emaciation made this horse collapse and get stuck. Now the only hope of help for this horse is Nahvia. One brave twenty two year old woman determined to help. Everyone else is an hour away. She must have immense courage and bravery. And she did. Nahvia put the work in to get the trapped horse out from under the board. It’s not easy to move a 1000+ anything, especially one that is resistant, sick and dehydrated / delirious. But if you watch this video— this poor emaciated horse knows she’s trying to help him. He never once thrashed or tried to hurt her. He’s been down on his left hind for a long time so it’s gone numb. So when she does sit him up, he just falls right over to his right side but that is a GOOD / lucky thing. It’ll get his good leg up (the one that isn’t numb) and under him to finally stand up.
