Someone please enlighten me here. Given my credit card is R30k and I transfer R35k and my expenses from that R35k are R20k then I use the remaining R15k for day to day expenditure until it finishes month end, how will that pay off credit card?

I've tried this, and unfortunately, it does not work that way. For example, if you are given a credit limit of R2,000 and you use R1,000, you only owe R1,000. When you transfer your salary into the credit card account to settle the balance, you should only pay the amount owed. Any amount above that becomes a surplus and does not count as credit utilization. For the following month, instead of relying on your own surplus funds, it is better to use the credit facility provided by the bank and then repay the amount used when it becomes due. This allows you to maintain proper credit utilization and build a positive credit record.

it won't improve it for long. You have to spend some of the credit to have a credit utilization record. Not spending a cent of it, is a slow change on the credit report
