I don’t think love is supposed to fix poverty. It was never the cure, and it shouldn’t have to be. But I also don’t think poverty should be the thing that disqualifies us from loving or being loved. We’re allowed to want softness even when our lives are hard. We’re allowed to choose someone even when the future isn’t guaranteed. Love isn’t a prize for surviving the system, it’s the thing that reminds us we’re still human inside it. I hope we stop treating it like a luxury item. It’s more like oxygen when you’re drowning.

i have always believed that love is one of the few things that should remain untouched by circumstance. not immune to hardship, perhaps, but never forced into competition with it. worrying about the future is valid, and wanting to protect someone from the sharp edges of your own reality is a necessary kind of empathy. but, love does not exist to cure poverty, nor should poverty be the reason we deny it. i hope everyone lets themselves love no matter the circumstances. because love isn't a reward reserved only for those who have figured out how to outrun the hardships of the world; it is supposed to be the steady ground we stand on when everything else is falling apart.

making your partner choose between your future and them isn't healthy at all. Love someone when you are ready because if both of you can't handle the struggles of life both of you will just end up poor in life and everything. Even in love, when your not financially stable both of you will struggle. So find your future and secure it before finding someone you love, you can still love but put up your boundaries. Because the choice isn't in them, it is on you :)

kapag humahantong kami sa kahirapan like budget or gipit, minsan napapaisip ako what if iwanan nya nalang ako at ituloy nya pagaaral nya. nagsasama kami at construction worker sya, nakapagtapos sya ng senior high maraming opportunity ang naghihintay sakanya kaya nakokonsensya akong tinitiis nya ang gutom at hirap makasama lang ako pero ako? hindi ko matiis na marami syang sinayang na opportunity dahil pinaghahawakan nya yung salitang "aanhin ko yung pangarap ko kung hindi naman na ikaw yung kasama ko" i feel bad sa sarili ko kasi feeling ko ako yung hadlang sa pangarap nya. 😩
