I always got two piece swim suits for my babies. Changing a swim diaper for a squirmy and damp baby is hard enough! A tankini works well.

I used to get my kids tankinis for the pool (indoor) and a swim shirt - preferably long sleeve for the beach. The swim shirts are more comfortable with either nothing or a bikini top under rather than two full layers of wet Lycra, but if they have a bikini then you can strip the wet top off and they warm up quicker. I usually have a hooded towel or robe for them too.

Idk about yall but my sister with a g-tube finds it significantly easier to wear a two-piece and has since she was little. It’s about inclusivity aswell! Not just trying to “show off” a baby or any of that bs. But I’m don’t think they should be “cheeky” or anything of that sort.

I feel like that what the child wears might make them more prone to attacks or unwanted attention, or whatever the case is. but also that this, as sad as it is, is going to happen regardless. despite how bad it is. it still happens. And predators take more onto openings and vulnerabilities when targeting ...but also this might make them choose to target a child more than others. and, yes... bikini's are practical. but there should definitely be a baseline with them for children. they should cover what they need to cover and not be so accessible to viewing or anything.
