you need a police report and court affidavit if only you are retaining the previous owner's number plate probably beacuse you don't have the money to get a new plate number which comes with a prof of ownership containing your name. during this process the police calls the previous owner to confirm if he actually sold the car to you.

it's a normal thing you would do when you buy a registered car .you got to the nearest police command and obtain an affidavit and police extract stating you just bought the car from the previous owner ....it's to make the transaction legit

I think you are correct, l just wan let people know that previous names and address of the previous owner is no longer needed provided the new name carried your information like people living in Abuja once you have done change of ownership the new paper automatically carry your name and address.
